SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER - ELECTRICAL

POSITION PURPOSE
Develop and execute Non-Hire Stock capital engineering projects in support of CHEP North American Operations


MAJOR / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop project plans and successfully execute them in accordance with established schedule, cost and performance standards.
• Develop standards for CHEP equipment by working with engineering team and equipment suppliers.

• Excellent in electrical PLC controls design and troubleshooting
• Support the development of Capital Expenditure Authorization documents to include cost estimates and project justification.
• Manage all activities associated with capital project execution to include equipment layout and scope development, vendor selection and requests for quote, purchase order generation, contractor selection, on-site supervision during the installation and start-up of equipment, and proper tagging and accounting of new equipment.
• Ensure that all necessary safe work practices are adhered to by both CHEP and contractor personnel.
• Ensure that all necessary construction and environmental permits are obtained prior to work beginning.
• Track and report progress as required against project deliverables.
• Coordinate training of on-site personnel as needed for system operation and maintenance.
• Ensure proper handoff of completed projects to include as-built drawings, maintenance and operations manuals, and spare parts lists.

• Flexibility to travel - up to 50%, but not limited to, of time especially for support and installations at service centers.

• Annual CapEx Budget:  US$1-5M
• Countries: US and Canada

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Post Graduate qualifications in related areas (desirable)
• Project Management Professional (desirable)


EXPERIENCE
• 3 - 5 years of project engineering and / or related project management experience
• Strong electrical PLC controls programming and troubleshooting
• Minimum 3 years of experience working as an engineer in an operations / manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated process improvement experience


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• Knowledgeable in the utilization of material handling and related light industrial equipment
• Excellent in electrical PLC controls design and troubleshooting
• Project management
• Knowledgeable in basic industrial electrical wiring, process piping, and machine guarding principals
• Skilled in the use of one or more CAD software packages such as AutoCAD
• Good verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle complexity
• Ability to work across cultures and manage multiple stakeholders
• Required Language – English
• Regional language skills desirable

Objectif du poste
Développer et mettre en oeuvre les projets d’ingénierie et d’immobilisation des stocks afin de soutenir les opérations nord-américaines de CHEP.


Principales responsabilités
• Développer les plans de projet et les réaliser avec succès conformément aux échéanciers, aux coûts et aux normes de rendement établis.
• Développer des normes pour l’équipement de CHEP en collaborant avec l’équipe d’ingénierie et les fournisseurs d’équipement.
• Soutenir la préparation des documents d’autorisation des dépenses en capital afin de fournir les estimations de coûts et le motif des projets.
• Gérer toutes les activités associées à l’exécution du projet d’immobilisation, y compris l’emplacement de l’équipement et la description de la portée, la sélection des fournisseurs et les demandes de proposition, la production des bons de commande, la sélection des entrepreneurs, la supervision sur place durant l’installation et le démarrage de l’équipement, l’étiquetage approprié et la saisie du nouvel équipement.
• Veiller à ce que toutes les pratiques de travail sécuritaire nécessaires soient respectées par les employés de CHEP et les entrepreneurs.
• Veiller à ce que tous les permis de construction et environnementaux nécessaires soient obtenus avant le début des travaux.
• Faire le suivi des progrès et produire des rapports à ce sujet par rapport aux objectifs du projet.
• Coordonner la formation du personnel à l’établissement au besoin sur l’utilisation et la maintenance du système.
• Veiller au transfert des projets terminés, notamment des plans d’établissement, des manuels de maintenance et d’utilisation et des listes des pièces de rechange.


Qualifications
• Baccalauréat en génie électrique
• Qualifications postuniversitaires dans des domaines connexes (souhaitable)
• Professionnel de la gestion de projet (souhaitable)


Expérience
• 3 à 5 ans d’expérience en ingénierie de projet ou expérience den gestion de projet connexe
• Au moins 3 ans d’expérience de travail à un poste d’ingénieur dans un milieu d’exploitation ou de fabrication
• Expérience éprouvée en amélioration des processus


Compétences et connaissances
• Connaissance de l’utilisation de l’équipement de manutention du matériel et de l’équipement léger connexe
• Excellentes aptitudes en conception de contrôles et en dépannage
• Gestion de projet
• Connaissance de base sur le câblage électrique industriel, la tuyauterie et les dispositifs de protection des machines
• Maîtrise d’un ou plusieurs logiciels de CAO comme AutoCAD
• Bonnes aptitudes à la communication verbale et écrite, à la présentation et à l’établissement de relations
• Grande minutie
• Excellentes aptitudes à la gestion du temps et capacité de gérer les situations complexes
• Capacité de travailler avec différentes cultures et de gérer plusieurs intervenants
• Langue requise : Anglais
• Maîtrise d’une autre langue utilisée dans la région souhaitable
