Position Summary

As a Senior EDI Developer, you will work with a team to deliver solutions for business users for one of our top clients in the health insurance industry. You will work under minimal supervision to design, code, configure, test, debug, deploy, document, and maintain programs, while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards. You will need to gather some business requirements for these enhancements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications from which programs will be written or configured.

Responsibilities

  • Develop EDI application built in C++, C#, and PL/SQL while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standards
  • Interpret business requirements, translating that information into detailed technical specifications
  • Validate that proposed applications align with the architectural design and with the business needs
  • Troubleshoot application problems, identify interdependencies, and implement new solutions
  • Estimate, design, code or configure, test, debug, deploy, document and maintain applications and platforms while adhering to specific development best practices and quality standard
  • Assists in technology road mapping in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment
  • Actively participates in Program Increment (PI) Planning Days each quarter
  • Works independently on most tasks and shares information readily
  • Communicates regularly, openly, and honestly with team lead
  • Raises concerns appropriately to mitigate issues
  • Uses a variety of software development toolkits, programming languages, testing/verification applications and other tools

Skill & Experience Requirements

  • Experience with EDI X12
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming, specifically C++ or C#
  • Strong background in programming within an EDI environment; more than mapping is required
  • Experience working with Facets and health plan data (preferred, not required)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret technical requirements
  • Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve systems problems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
