On behalf of our client in the Utility Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Linux/AIX/Power Administration.

Linux/AIX/Power Administration – Job Description

  • Analyzes business/functional/technical requirements and specifications for the IT Systems
  • Act as subject matter expert and lead resource in all matters related to UNIX/AIX
  • Develop, deploy and manage monitoring, reporting and alerting tools for the UNIX/AIX, including day-to-day monitoring of the UNIX/AIX environment to ensure the integrity of all resource elements
  • Installs, configures, maintains, enhances Information Technology systems software and hardware in accordance with corporate and security standards, for defined area of expertise as mentioned in the competencies section
  • Supports and responds to service outages and incidents
  • Supports Information Technology System testing, deployment and upgrade activities
  • Creates and maintains documentation to support IT Systems and Processes
  • Identifies problems and opportunities for improvement of IT Services, systems or processes
  • Troubleshoots and maintains IT systems to improve reliability, capacity, performance
  • Performs administrative routines associated with the position
  • Any other required activities within the scope of this role

Linux/AIX/Power Administration – Mandatory Skills

  • Post-secondary Degree/ Diploma (University or College)
  • 5 to 8 years’ experience in Information Technology
  • Relevant professional certifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience relevant to the following operational areas:
  • Experience working with Redhat Linux, AIX and Power
  • High degree of expertise with latest levels of PowerHA
  • High degree of expertise with IBM Virtualization Technology, VIO, HMC, NIM, vSCSI and NPIV High degree of expertise with LPM and virtualization
  • Working knowledge of host security, networking and storage Expertise with scripting languages such as ksh scripts Expertise with AIX patching and upgrades
  • Knowledge of VMWARE/HyperV
  • Ability to work in team environment
