Cloud Software Performance Engineer

Come and join us! Intel is seeking highly qualified candidates to join our Cloud and Enterprise Solutions Group (CESG) within our larger Data Platforms Group (DPG) as a Cloud Software Performance Lead Engineer!

Within the CESG, join our Hyperscaler Team which is growing and looking for a strong Software Performance Lead Engineer to enable Intel products and technologies. In this role, you will drive Intel differentiation through in-depth performance analysis, architectural characterization, and enabling Intel technologies.

You will analyze and characterize the customer's workload so we can recommend the system and/or OS configuration changes, provide the customer with software Best Known Configuration (BKCs) for best performance on Intel architecture, identify software optimization opportunities, recommend best-fit CPU SKU, and perform a competitive evaluation. In the absence of a customer's specific workload, you will design (with the customer) and implement a proxy workload used for performance evaluation.

The Data Platforms Group drives new product technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, as well as solutions for big data and intelligent devices. Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 9 years of industry work experience, or

- Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 6 years of industry work experience, or

- PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field plus 4 years of industry work experience.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

- 7 years of experience with software development on server-side software.

- 4 years of experience with performance analysis - must have a fundamental understanding of software stacks and how software and hardware work together.

- 4 years of DevOps experience deploying and maintaining multi-tiered infrastructure and web applications.

- 4 years of experience with one or more of the following: Docker, Kubernetes, Microservices, Service Mesh, container deployment, and orchestration.

- 4 years of expertise in CC and Java programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or JavaScript.

- 4 years of experience with Linux.

- 2 years of experience and understanding of micro-architectures.

- 2 years providing technical leadership in a team.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with VTune, Linux Perf tools.

- Familiarity with hardware debug using software tools, EMONs, trace-based captures.
