Human Resources Manager

I am working with an organization that is seeking an experienced HR Manager to oversee all HR activities at four facilities. This role will assist in developing and maintaining policies and programs related to the human resource function and will work closely with upper management.

Manage Human Resource Functions: Direct and coordinate the HR Department and functions in accordance with corporate policy and procedures. Lead department to add value to the business in areas including compliance, safety and health, staffing, employee and labor relations, performance, training and development, and other functions.
Strategy, Policy and Procedures: Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the Summit facility that ensures alignment with the Safety BU, JSG corporate and labor relations strategy.
Employee Relations: Develop and maintain employee relations initiatives and culture that emphasizes empowerment and continuous improvement. Promote an open door environment to ensure good employee relations and services. Provide a work environment that is fair and unbiased.
Health & Safety: Develop, approve and maintain health and safety programs for all facets of the Summit facility. Evaluate and recommend measures that will reduce or eliminate hazards in the workplace. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and ensure appropriate safety training is conducted.
Workers’ Compensation: Direct and manage workers’ compensation claims and make recommendations to ensure the facility stays on the leading edge of workers’ compensation strategy.
Labor Relations: Assist in defining and promoting the facilities labor relations strategy. Lead contract negotiations and manage the formal grievance process. Collect and review data to make recommendations on strategy for operations and future negotiations.
Manage the Recruiting, Staffing and Onboarding of new employees.
Ensure compliance with all state, federal and regulatory employment laws.

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or business-related field or equivalent combination of education and 7-10 year’s experience.
Three to five years’ experience as a Human Resources Manager or senior level Human Resources.
A minimum of three years’ work experience with exposure to safety and environmental elements in an industrial setting; experience in flexible packaging industry a definite plus.
Must possess knowledge of all segments of the Human Resources field. Continually supplement knowledge with classroom and seminar instruction on related topics.
