Accounting Specialist

Summary / Objective :

Accounting Specialist will assist to calculate manufacturing
cost and file a variety of taxes. This position requires detailed
oriented, well organized and able to multi-task, ability to work as
a team member, and have a good work ethic.

Accounting Specialist will assist and review with account
payable, account receivable of SL Alabama including but not limited
to payment runs, and customer payment reconciliation.

Essential Function :

Calculate manufacturing cost and maintain product cost
system

Maximize product profitability by monitoring and providing
feedback to related departments

Assist and review payments to local and international
vendors

Assist and review collections from customers and daily
reconciliation

Manage C.I.P. account and fixed assets

Make journal entries for accrual expenses

Prepare P.B.C. for year-end audit and assist external
auditors

File a variety of taxes including but not limited to sales tax,
property tax, business privilege tax, etc.

Responsible for F.I. module closing and assist C.O. module
closing

Support H.R. department and general administration

Required Education :

Bachelors or Master’s Degree Required in Accounting / Finance /
Business Administration Preferred

2-3 years previous accounting experience preferred

Experience with SAP Preferred

Competencies :

Strong Accounting principal understanding

Must possess good interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Products particularly Excel

Ability to interact well with other departments, customers, and
suppliers

Positive Attitude

Must have immediate knowledge and skills in Microsoft
products

Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fast pace production
environment

Physical Demands :

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is
    regularly to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to
    stand;
  • walk; use hands and fingers. Employee is required to sit; climb,
    balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Employee must be able to
    lift 10 pounds up to 25 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities are required for this job included
    close vision, distance, color peripheral, depth perception and
    ability to focus.

    Expected Work Hours

    This is a full time position. Hours of work are Monday through
    Friday 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.

    Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job
    duties demand.

    Must be available for weekend work when necessary

    Travel : Less than 10%
