General Description for Welder:

Set-up and run production welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Spot), keeping up with production schedules and meeting quality requirements.

Welder Reports to: Production Supervisor

Responsibilities for Welder:

  • Be able to run MIG, TIG and Spot Welding equipment for welding sheet metal components, assuring quality and productivity.
  • Reads and interprets blue prints of part components and performs precision layout / set-up of components for welding.
  • Keep up with traveler and paperwork flow by logging correct number of parts run to specifications.
  • May assist Weld Lead in the training and Qualification of less experienced welders.
  • Responsible to know and enforce all Company and Safety rules and regulations, providing suggestions for improvement to quality and safety as they are identified.
  • Non-Essential Functions for Welder:

  • Perform miscellaneous duties as the job requires or as assigned by management.
  • Help in other departments as needed.
  • Minimum Educational Qualifications for Welder:

  • High school diploma, Equivalency (GED), or equivalent work experience required.
  • Welding Certification(s) preferred.
  • Minimum Previous Experience for Welder:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in MIG, TIG and Spot welding in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Other Skills for Welder:

  • Ability to understand and follow all instructions given.
  • Fill out required paperwork.
  • Familiarity with reading / interpreting blueprints.
  • Familiarity with the use dial calipers, square and various measuring equipment.
  • Working Conditions for Welder:

    • Frequency: Daily
    • Keep the working area clean and organized
  • Lifting: Up to 50lbs.
