Purpose of Position: Under general supervision, with latitude for independent judgment and initiative, assists in the planning, organizing, controlling and coordinating of administrative and office operations in a variety of organizational settings and modalities in the delivery of business and management support systems, health care and patient support systems. Integrates these programs, functions and services with other hospitals and Central Office sectors to maximize optimal levels of performance in the coordination of such activities.

  • Enforce Materials Management policies and procedures of the facility and Central Office as a whole
  • Participate in Central Office Materials Management conference calls when requested
  • Process PeopleSoft paper requisitions from other departments to accommodate their supply needs
  • Verify Min/Max replenishment request with a physical walkthrough of the stockroom
  • Improve Key Performance Indicators to maintain Central Office compliance with inventory control
  • Create manual requisitions when supplies are below the minimum threshold
  • Identify errors in PeopleSoft inventory and use root cause analysis tool to remedy any disparities
  • Maintain up-to-date information on unit PAR locations
  • Manage pharmacy OTC medication and dispense to nursing units when requested
  • Provide replenishment of medical/surgical supplies to PAR locations
  • Check and replace empty oxygen tanks on nursing units and other departments
  • Assist in bringing in pallets of supplies from loading dock into Central Stores
  • Match vendor packing slips and validate product receipt before receiving into PeopleSoft
  • Check expiration dates on all products with stock workers on a monthly basis
  • Interact with clinical departments to discuss/request products for patient care
  • Conduct cycle counts with stock workers to maintain accurate inventory control
  • Assist Director of Materials with preparation of stockroom for year-end inventory
  • Manage and maintain invoices/ordering documents from various vendors to provide supporting documents for audit purposes
  • Perform other duties as required, necessary, or assigned
  • Minimum Qualifications
    1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Work, Psychology or Rehabilitation Counseling, and three (3) years of full-time experience in medically-oriented health care and medical support systems environment, two (2) years of which included experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in such occupations as physical, occupational, inhalation, speech and audiology therapy or as Medical/Laboratory Technologist, Microbiologist (various specialties), Chemist (biochemist), Radiation and X-Ray Technician or three (3) years of responsible level experience in business management systems or general administration including two (2) years in a supervisory or administrative capacity.
    2. A Masters Degree from an accredited college or university in the disciplines listed in (1), and two (2) years of full-time experience as listed in (1), plus one (1) year experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity in occupations as listed in (1); or,
    3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
