We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role will design electrical systems for fuel cell engines that manage electrical power conveyance, electrical signal conveyance, electrical product interfaces, and their interactions with mechanical subsystems in fuel cell power system and fuel cell engine products (L2). Responsible for system electrical design in a multi-platform environment, ensuring smooth transition from development to production. Tasks include management of custom component development, selection of power electronics, and integration of electrical subsystems.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
* All design aspects of fuel cell engine electrical subsystems, inclusive of engine control hardware, power wiring, signal wiring, and overall engine electrical subsystem architecture
* Design of electrical subsystems for compliance with codes and standards across multi-region, multi-market product deployment targets
* Selects electrical components to meet product requirements and leads technical aspects of custom electrical component development with external engineering firms, manufacturers
* Champions documentation of all aspects of electrical system design and design intent (i.e. design notebooks, calculators)
* Contributes to generation of systems engineering work products, inclusive of DFMEA, risk assessments, requirements definition, component audits, verification test planning/reporting
* Supports reliability growth and early design defect resolution through timely resolution of development logs
* Supports prototype builds and troubleshooting of engine electrical subsystems and their transition to manufacturing
Required Job Qualifications (unless otherwise noted):
Educational Background
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master's degree preferred.
Previous Work Experience
Physical requirements/Work environment
Office as well as R&D lab work environments. Use of basic hand tools.
Approximately 75% in office environment, 25% of time spent in lab or on site
Travel Required
Up to 10% domestic and international travel, including overnight, may be required.

Previous Work Experience
- 5+ years experience in electrical engineering
- Experience with > 60 VDC mobile power systems preferred
- Electrical design (at system and component level design), using schematic capture and wiring diagram tools.
- System-level architecture and design using state-of-the art embedded controller design.
- Skill in digital microprocessor based and analog instrumentation circuit design.
- Familiarity with CAN bus standards and architecture.
- Familiarity with switching power supply specification and design.
- Ability to multitask, enthusiasm and a positive attitude to problem solving.
- Expertise in schematic capture software, (ORCAD) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD) drawing packages
- Familiarity NEC/NFPA/UL industry electrical and design standards.
