Account Manager - Florida

Purpose

Responsible for exceeding annual operation plan (AOP) for total sales with assigned territory in close coordination with assigned Account Executive counterpart.  Primary focus on selling and maintaining traditional relationships with janitorial supply distributors and developing sales opportunities with corporate accounts and direct sales accounts in the areas of hospitality, healthcare, government, building services, and education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Focuses on growing sales in support of the local sales and marketing efforts of Karcher distributors.
  • Working with the Regional Account Executive counterpart, exceeds AOP within assigned geographic region.
  • Provides support for assigned Kärcher distributors within territory by scheduling and executing equipment and sales training for Distributor Sales Representatives (DSR) so they can become qualified to promote the entire Kärcher line.
  • Utilizes the Territory Sales Plan to expand the sales of Kärcher products to the predetermined Corporate Account prospects and newly contacted prospects.
  • Develops sales opportunities for the Century 400 product line in smaller janitorial niche distributors.
  • Maintains an activity log within the structure of the Territory Sales Plan and maintains an active updated customer file.
  • Assists distributor(s) with administrative needs such as credits, disputed invoices, outstanding payments, and other related duties.
  • Responds to distributors’ requests for Equipment Demo Assistance with prospective buyers that have been developed by the DSR and assists in closing the sales.
  • Maintains an appropriate equipment demo inventory and ensures the equipment is clean, updated, and ready for sale or distribution; manages the rotation of that equipment to minimize obsolescence.
  • Assists the Karcher Credit Department with collections for outstanding receivable balances as requested.
  • Makes end-user calls representing Karcher and distributors for account development.

Work is monitored and reviewed by the Regional Sales Director.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, or related field OR equivalent combination of experience and education.

Experience

  • Sales skills that would typically be acquired in at least three (3) years working with commercial cleaning industries.
  • Knowledge and aptitude for understanding mechanical and chemistry aspects of cleaning equipment and associated chemicals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • General understanding of the cleaning industry and products.
  • Practical selling skills and aptitude for performing equipment needs analyses.
  • Creditable history of building relationships based upon trust, confidence, and personal rapport.
  • Operates a computer proficiently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Able to load demonstration equipment both on and off tow trailer.
  • Can operate a company car, trailer, and Kärcher demonstration equipment.
