EDI Master Data Analyst

Our Houston, Texas retail client is looking for Data Analyst to be responsible for various activities relating to product and retail store database maintenance . This role will need to do reporting and extracting data for various reports and analysis, and provide observations for process improvement. This particular contractor will need to have a focus on EDI transactional documentation that comes from vendors that fails to transmit. As a result that data will need to be redirected into a research folder for remedy/resolution.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintains SKU data entry requirements by following data program techniques and Master Data procedures.
  • Establishes system update entry priorities.
  • Processes source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information into computer files for database upload.
  • Verifies entered SKU data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.
  • Maintains record of completed work for each event and routes or files source documents after data entry.
  • Conducts audit analysis by retrieving data, identifying inconsistencies/inaccuracies, manipulates and validates data on a daily basis.
  • Investigates and responds to inquiries concerning data.
  • Provides feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance.
  • Provides SKU data reports to departments as needed.
  • Maintains cross reference files essential for inventory import, reporting, and market conversions.
  • Researches invoice cost discrepancies for Accounts Payable and determines action needed to resolve discrepancy.
Key Accountabilities
  • Ensures priorities of projects are aligned with business priorities.
  • Updates Product and Store Master systems timely and regularly to reflect correct information.
  • Ensures timely and accurate reporting.
Knowledge Requirements:
  • Microsoft Office
  • Excel skills including comfortable with manipulating data, use of pivot tables, formulas, and filtering.
  • Knowledge of mathematical concepts.
Ability to read and interpret reports, documents such as Merchandising SKU routing forms, planograms, system reports, and procedure manuals.
Education/Training
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent combination of education and experience.
