This is a 2-month contract with possibility of extension.

The Application Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing application conversion projects as part of a corporate M&A integration. This role reports to the M&A Program Manager as a part of the M&A Project Management Office. The Application Project Manager will ensure our client's standards for quality, timeline, and budget are met and strategic synergies are achieved. as a result of application conversions.
This client is a global insurance leader based in Chicago. This role will be virtual for the foreseeable future - can be worked from anywhere in the US. When COVID regulations allow, a portion of on-site work will be expected.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning:
  • Develop project plans and timelines to ensure the efficient allocation of resources and completion of application conversions and integrations
  • Create and manage the project plans in collaboration with the M&A Integration team and business stakeholders
  • Work with third-party vendor partners, business stakeholders, and other members of the M&A Integration team to ensure the appropriate resources will be available when and where they are needed
  • Collaborate and communicate with other project managers and leaders to coordinate cross-project initiatives and activities
  • Perform integration closeout activities as they relate to transitioning to steady-state
Project Execution:
  • Conduct full life cycle project process management, including gathering / qualifying requirements to ensure quality is addressed through all phases of each project
  • Drive and track progress of internal engineering work streams for designated application conversion projects (e.g. Epic conversions, BenefitPoint conversions, interface build and test)
  • Catalog any non-standard application situations into the Application Management database
  • Identify and communicate issues, risks, and/or changes throughout the application conversion process in accordance with PMO governance and methodology
  • Manage activities related to transitioning the acquired business to a steady-state
Continuous Improvement:
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of M&A Integration processes and deliverables aligned with performance excellence initiatives and through execution of a post-mortem feedback loop
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to create a better, faster, easier integration experience for each M&A deal
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Demonstrate Operations and Technology Leadership Behaviors (one team, build trust, customer-driven, future-focused, innovate daily, and be curious) in all actions and ways of working, and coach the assigned organization on the behaviors
  • Fulfill additional duties as required
Key Success Measurements:
  • Create and implement application conversion project plans and timelines that are in line with M&A Integration resources available to ensure minimal variance during project execution
  • Ensure acquisitions are integrated within the expected quality, timeline, and budget
  • Complete integrations within the timelines set forth at the beginning of the integration process
  • Understand the broker / carrier ecosystems
  • Meet CSAT expectations for stakeholder satisfaction related to the integration experience
  • Eliminate all internal escalations to the Executive Management team from seller stakeholders or regional leaders
  • The ideal candidate will have 5+ years’ experience application project management experience
  • Must have previous experience working software delivery engagements
  • Must have SDLC experience
  • Epic experience a plus
