Performs phlebotomy on out-patients and in-patients to include acute patient care areas, ICU, Oncology, Nursery, Surgery, Post Anesthesia, and ED in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols. Demonstrates service excellence and positive interpersonal skills when dealing with others to included patients, family, Nurses, Physicians and Ancillary Care team members, in order to maximize quality patient care, and assure patient satisfaction. Performs accurate processing of all specimens in a timely manner to ensure quality patient care. Faxes and distributes results as appropriate. Responsible for maintaining knowledge and deployment of policies and procedures used within the department as well as throughout the hospital to address patient questions and concerns.

High School diploma, Certificate of Attendance, Certificate of Completion, GED, or equivalent required. Phlebotomy or medical assistant certificate. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, verbal and written. Excellent customer service skills and able to work in a high volume and fast paced work environment. Hospital experience preferred. Previous phlebotomy experience desired.
