Mid-Level Cloud Engineers

Data Systems Analysts, Inc. is searching for Mid-level Cloud Engineers to work alongside operations staff preparing an Azure tenant for production deployments by setting up application infrastructure in Azure, verifying the security of the environment and working with developers to automate deployment processes using Azure Pipelines. The Cloud Engineers will be part of an Integrated Product Team using agile methods to support the Legislative Computer Systems (LCS) division of the U.S. House of Representatives Clerk's office located in Washington, DC.  The Cloud Engineers shall provide technical support and guidance to include the following:
 
Required Skills:
  • Develop solutions integrating Microsoft Azure commercial clouds (public and government community) with services hosted on-premise and in other clouds
  • Define and implement secure networking solutions between on-premise data centers and commercial clouds
  • Establish federated identity solutions between on-premise and commercial clouds
  • Define and establish secure cloud configurations, including integration with on-premise SIEM
  • Define and implement cloud-based solution architectures
  • Install operating systems and application software in cloud compute environments
  • Define, document, and implement procedures for backup of on-premise and cloud-based systems and data
  • Monitor cloud-based systems and components for availability, performance, reliability, security, efficiency, and ability to meet non-functional requirements and service level agreements
  • Support security audits, accreditation and certification processes, and obtaining approval to operate (ATO) for cloud-based system architectures
  • Develop and maintain software solutions / scripts to support automation of cloud configuration and administration Strong communication skills..
 
Experience and/or Certifications
  • Standard Requirement:  Possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • At least 1 year experience developing, configuring, and managing secure networking solutions to support communications between internal and external systems
  • At least 1 year experience implementing cloud architectures on Microsoft Azure
  • At least 1 year experience developing, configuring, and managing cloud-based systems supporting enterprise web-based applications
  • At least 1 year experience supporting security audits, accreditation and certification processes, and obtaining approval to operate (ATO) for cloud-based system architectures
  • Agile development team experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience implementing secure and scalable hybrid cloud architectures
  • Azure PowerShell scripting expertise
  • Python/Boto scripting experience
  • Experience implementing and managing DevOps pipelines for cloud-based workloads
  • Scaled Agile Framework experience
  • Experience deploying application infrastructure in Azure
  • Experience implementing security policies and controls
  • Experience verifying deployments and performing security scans
  • Experience automating application deployments into Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Azure Database using Azure Pipelines
  • Five to eight years of experience
  • US Citizenship required and ability to meet personnel security eligibility requirements
