Field Service Project Manager – Oxford, CT
BBM Railway Equipment, LLC, based in Youngstown, Ohio is one of the leading railway maintenance equipment providers within North America. BBM designs several rolling stock maintenance machines, including but not limited to; Wheel-set Presses, Bearing Presses, Truck Presses, Truck Testing Stands, and various types of custom designed equipment. This very talented and dedicated group has significant experience in engineering, manufacturing, and service for several lifting and rotating products. Some of the specific products are Drop Tables, Car Hoists, Portable Electric Jacks, Truck Hoists, Truck Rotators, Turntables and more.
The Field Service Project Manager will be responsible for the initiation, coordination, direction, control and completion of multiple projects at the same time, while remaining aligned with the specific scope of the project.
? Manage small to large equipment rebuild contracts with Class 1 freight railroads and transit authorities.
? Set baseline job budgets during project initiation to monitor and adjust as needed throughout the life of the project.
? Build master project schedules (gantt charts) from sales estimates and subcontractor schedules.
? Issue purchase orders to component and subcontract suppliers.
? Interface directly with customers as the central point of contact for scheduling and executing work.
? Manage the original scope of supply for all field service projects (small and large) and thoroughly communicate this with the customer and the field service technicians; process change orders as necessary when scope change is requested.
? Coordinate and track receivables, free issued components, factory testing materials, etc.
? Coordinate and track deliverables as required by the contract/specification; design submittal packages, operation and maintenance manuals, training manuals, etc.
? Organize shipments and generate packing lists within the ERP for proper shipment tracking.
? Generate preliminary parts lists for spare parts and service projects.
? Work with suppliers to get new/updated quotations for replacement parts.
? Review Field Service Reports from Technicians and modify as necessary to assure a professional level.
? Reviewing and updating Operation and Maintenance Manuals.
? Support the Spare Parts/Service Manger as needed.
? Any other related tasks required
? Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/Engineering Technology preferred.
? Certification in Project Management (CAPM or PMP) preferred.
? Minimum 7-10 years’ experience
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
? Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, ERP Systems)
? Experience in managing multi-million dollar contracts is a plus.
? Experience in the railroad industry is a plus.
? Experience in construction management is a plus.
