Project Manager - RDC

We are currently searching for a Project Manager to be based out of the Harvey, IL Regional Distribution Center. Reporting to Regional Distribution Center Manager, this person will be responsible for executing process improvement throughout various functions in the RDC.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a requirement.

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Champions initiatives that deliver continuous improvement, culture transformation, waste reduction and/or cost savings

Utilize industry standard continuous improvement methodologies and change management tools to solve problems and drive improvement changes in a large steel industry finished goods warehouse which includes bulk material and a sizeable carton pick operation.

Oversee and execute all aspects of projects from idea generation to post-implementation report out.

Overseeing/facilitating/coordinating continuous improvement, 5S and Kaizen events and activities, monitoring programs and summarizing the progress of all projects in regular reports.

Perform special/strategic projects as required

Provides regular updates to the Sr. leadership on project statuses.

Carries out project leadership functions including leading process changes, layout changes, visual management implementation, time studies and other similar functions by coordinating and communicating between the various disciplines.

Support daily standard work from an analyst’s perspective to measure and report out on KPIs.

Support report automation initiative with IT department to drive efficiency with daily reporting.

May audit adherence to process and standard work to verify the accuracy in regards to but not limited to: quantity, SKU, condition of products, condition of pallets, and insures that all necessary labeling is applied correctly.

May support daily standard work of purchase order review and financial reporting

Raises issues and opportunities to improve project status and procedures proactively to allow risk mitigation and prompt problem resolution.

Qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree required.

PMP or IASSC Green Belt preferred.

3-5 years experience managing project implementation, analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Strong computer literacy including advanced Excel, Tableau, and Report Automation

Experience with WMS a must, (JDE and RFS preferred but not required)

Experience working in high volume warehouses.

Experience working with cross-functional teams

Strong presentation skills
