Accounting Supervisor

Description

SAIC is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support our Project
Setup Department in Huntsville, AL. This position can be worked
remotely.

This is an excellent opportunity to enhance leadership skills,
assist with advanced Costpoint project setup and analysis, and
interact with other teams within FSS.

The Project Setup team is in charge of end-to-end project setup
activities including initial contract review, determining project
setup requirements, and continued project maintenance.

The responsibilities encompass the Costpoint system setup of
projects with a major focus on the analysis of programs that could
be comprised of various contract types to include Cost Plus, Time
Material, Work-In-Process, Fixed Price, and Inter-Company.

The Project Setup team serves internal customers as a mediator,
as a knowledgeable expert regarding the functions of project setup
to include what inputs impact billing and revenue, and as a valued
researcher from all points within the lifecycle of a contract.

The selected candidate will be responsible for helping manage
the daily operations and achieving the goals and objectives of the
Project Setup department.

This includes understanding, interpreting, and analyzing complex
levels of contracts and proposals in order to gather requirements
to design a project setup configuration that meets billing, revenue
recognition, reporting requirements, and various ad hoc duties.

The candidate will help oversee daily Project Setup tasks
offering solutions to issues as they arise as well as administer to
the career development of their direct reports.

The candidate will be operating in a high volume, fast-paced
environment, which will require a flexible schedule.

The Accounting Supervisor responsibilities include but are not
limited to :

  • Managing staff of 4 or more which include Project Setup Senior
    Analysts, Analysts, and Associates
  • Providing leadership and training to staff and promoting their
    career development
  • Ensuring all projects are setup correctly and in a timely
    manner per department policies and procedures
  • Reviewing and approving project setup of peers / direct
    reports
  • Reviewing and managing assignment of project change requests to
    team members via internal ticketing tool
  • Providing training / information to other functional areas to
    assist in the effectiveness of project setup activities
  • Participating in complex financial contract analysis
  • Creating and maintaining intermediate to complex direct and
    indirect project structure / information
  • Collaborating with multiple functional areas at all leadership
    levels
  • Analyzing billing and revenue issues and providing solutions
    that adhere to policy
  • Resolving discrepancies and inaccuracies that will aid in
    proper billing to our external customers and revenue reporting to
    the SEC
  • Required Skills :

  • Candidate must have prior supervisory experience
  • Candidate must have strong working knowledge of Deltek
    Costpoint and Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Candidate must possess strong written and verbal
    communication
  • Candidate must be highly organized with ability to manage
    multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.
  • Candidate must be able to work well independently and as part
    of a team
  • Required Education & Experience :

  • 8+ years of related experience or a Master’s Degree plus 6+
    years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related
    discipline is preferred (Education may be substituted with two to
    four years of work project accounting experience)
  • Desired Skills :

  • Experience in Government Contracting. Previous exposure to SAIC
    policies and procedures and work experience with Deltek Costpoint
    highly desirable.
  • Target salary range : $65,001 – $75,000. The estimate
    displayed represents the typical salary range for this position
    based on experience and other factors.
